How to apply
1 Register your interest
2 Pay deposit
Once you have registered, you will be invited to make a 20% deposit payment to book your place on the programme.
3 English test (where required)
For non native English speakers, after paying the deposit, you will be sent a private link and deadline to take the English assessment online.
4 Confirmation
We’ll be in touch to discuss the results of your test if you took one, and allocate your place. You will also be given access to your Student Portal where further details need to be completed.
5 Final payment
Pay the remainder of your fee by the date agreed at the “confirmation” stage, to secure your place.
6 Travel plans
Make your plans to travel to Rugby for your RSSC course! You should also add your flight /travel details to the Student Portal. RSSC does not run a visa service, but we can supply supporting visa letter.

Bookings will be managed on a first come first served basis
and availability may be restricted on the basis of ensuring mixed nationality cohorts.
Student profile
Applicants should be aged appropriately for the stream to which they are applying at the time of the programme, aligning to the subject teaching level, language level and expected maturity.
- Career Stream courses: Students should be aged 15+ and have at least C1 level of English, or be a native English speaker.
- Subject Stream courses: Students should be aged 13+ and have at least B2 level of English.
- EAL Stream course: Students should be aged 13+
Students applying to join Rugby School Short Courses are expected to apply themselves and strive to do their best at all times. Whilst they may have interest and talent in academic subjects, they must also be ready to pursue personal growth and new friendships in all elements of the programme. Independence, enthusiasm, humility and curiosity are essential qualities. Our Student Code of Conduct provided in the Student Guidebook prior to arrival should be read fully and adhered to during the course.
Where travelling alone, students should be of sufficient character and confidence to navigate their journey independently. Parental Consent forms must be signed in advance of arrival. We encourage parents and students to read our policy documents and Terms & Conditions and fully understand the information presented before booking onto the programme.
English level assessment
Placement test
Non-native English speaking students will take an online placement test (provided upon application) to confirm their English level. It is important that all students take this test independently and unaided to ensure it reflects their true level. They will ultimately be placed into appropriately streamed classes according to their tested level and age at the start of the programme.
Personal Statement
Students applying to attend any Career Stream course or Subject Stream Course will also be required to write a short personal statement in preparation for their arrival, outlining their aims whilst attending the programme.
Programme includes
All of our programmes include Full Board Accommodation, Academic Programme, Onsite Activity programme, Admin and Registration Fees and uniform elements (RSSC Tie and Polo shirt). Students will be required to pack a white or blue formal shirt to wear with their RSSC tie for formal dinners & assemblies.
The programme accepts individuals or small groups.
Rugby School Short Courses will provide transfers to and from the school for an additional fee to be agreed at the time of booking.
